are reliable or unreliable?

It may seem a silly question for many of you, but I have heard very mixed reviews in the HD bikes. Some people say that oil leak non-stop and always have problems. Others say that a HD will last forever, while you take the time to perform basic maintenance tasks. So what is the truth about Davidson? I am looking for honest answers from people who have owned of them. I'm looking for review about two words without the experience to back up what you say – that especially goes for you, Bart S. In fact, even answer this question, Bart. If your bike is great, I say. If you have had your problems, I say. I want the truth, the owners of HD.

Dave, your question is not stupid at all. I've owned 26 bikes in 43 years of riding. The last 5 have been Harley. In the old days, Harley has struggled ITH poor gasket material and leaked. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. And there was a period in the 70s when the AMF was built bikes that were of poor quality. However, none of the new bikes have these problems. I built a custom, restored a shovel head, then bought an Electra Glide, Dyna Wideglide and then a formal peace my current Ultra Edition slip. None of these leaked a drop of oil. I've never had a serious problem with one of them. My wife and I just ended with 10 days vacation on horseback, covered just under 3000 miles and the only problem I found was broken change to the intercom AA front, I notice, while having lunch. Last year, holiday main horse, same bike, same number of miles, not a single problem. I walk into a club of 500 members and ride a lot every year. I do not own bikes if not complete faith in it. No running by other big bikes, as I said, has owned 26 of them. I would gladly have up to one of the largest Honda, Kawasaki, BMW that I have owned or even the big Suzuki cross country ride. But for me, I prefer the Harley. In my current bike, the only changes I've done so far is added the performance of sliding silencers, a 1 stage of the new admission, an oil cooler and a race tuner. This earned me another 30 HP and higher torque 29ft lbs too. I intend adding true duel exhaust soon too. Later, I add the big hole kit, but do not really need. I cruise at 80, with reproduction music, set cruise control and enjoy the air suspension to get 45 mpg (up to 52 to 70 mph) Oh, and of course I've added some things as staff, just to make it mine. I'll be at Sturgis next month with him too. In the end, it is a matter of what you want. A Harley is inactivated more bravo to a Honda, but the sound of that engine running outside 96ci is hard to beat. No, not a crotch rocket (although I have owned a couple of those too), but then, I do not want to be one. at 6'3 "and 300 pounds (former cop, former weightlifter who has had his share of injuries) I like the convenience, and a that reflects what I am. I want to be able to back up and drive without being tight damaging forward on a tank, I stretch my legs and relax mile after mile. I also like the way they treat me if I have to get something from the dealership. While making the most of my own maintenance and repairs, occasionally needs some Harley, as the adjustment of the bearings of the steering head. Every time I go in, I was treated very well. No, I buy all my stuff from the concession, unless an element of guarantee or theme. Everything else I buy online from Dennis Kirk or J & P, etc. cycle, or a local store. Anyway, I hope this help answer your question. safe ride
