As far as appearance, which should match the style of your luggage to the lines of your bike as close as possible. The bags would not be well displayed on a sports bike, but would be fine on a cruise. Consider how often you will be riding and what's going to be carrying. There are bags that can be locked; bags that can be removed if the bike is stopped during the night, rigid bags, soft-sided bags and bags are small pouches that are very wide. My personal choice sanity is the nylon bags. Tour Master makes some fines. That's just a personal preference, however.
