Harley Sportster

During the years between 1964 and 1966 Harley Davidson built some really great motorcycles that had some impressive features that consumers have continued to enjoy. 1964 Harley-Davidson Sportster XLCH 883 cc motorcycle impressive V-twin engine power out most of its competitors during that time. The 1965 Harley-Davidson FL Electra Glide Harley was the last time installed with the venerable bread-head engine and the first big Harley with an electric start, which made this combination highly coveted collectable. Harley Davidson 1965 marked the end of an era.

The Electra-Glide, with electric starter, made his debut, but it would be the last year for the famous bread-V-Twin was introduced in 1948. That engine has received some modifications in the years to come an important lines in 1963 external lubrication oil that improves the butts. Along with the electric starter was twelve-volt electrical system replacing the previous six volts, which in turn brought a larger battery hidden under a large battery box on the right side. That, coupled with the bold "Electra Glide" script on the fender front makes it easy to distinguish this model from previous FLS.

Some Electra-glide had the standard exhaust system had two cylinders exhausting to the right in a single muffler. This was optional as a dual-muffler exhaust in the cylinder front left to right, while the cylinder went back to the left, both ending in his own distinctive fishtail "muffler. Also optional is the turn of the old hand and foot clutch agreement that was so popular with police departments. Although a curb weight of more than seven hundred results somewhat restricted, Electra-Glide Touring was mounting popular in his day, like the electric starter, alleviate the problem of having to put up the big V-Twin, which had become an easy task.

1966 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide FLH-moto smoother-running, more powerful shovel head engine replaced the pan-head engine that gave this sixty horse power motorcycle. In 1965, Harley-Davidson introduced an electric version of the initiation of big FL series, dubbing it the Electra-Glide, which is still powered by the pan-motor head. This big Harley was carrying not only the inevitable extra weight of the factory and owner-installed accessories, which became more abundant with a switch electric six to twelve volts volts, but the pound added by the hardware game.

Although the Pan American had the engine head served him well during his long reign, the owners wanted more power. By 1966, Harley released an updated version of the 74-cubic inch V-Twin in mating new aluminum shovel head cylinder heads of iron cannons, five more horsepower. The smoother, run, the most powerful shovel head engine was a welcome relief. The weight of the FLS had crept up to nearly eight hundred pounds, and the extra power was appreciated by the owners. However, despite the increased power and weight growing, FLS still delayed for drum brakes front and rear, and it was not until 1972 that a disc front it seems.
